Our Thursday Escape for this week is a little different, and seasonally appropriate!
Both Jason A. Adams and Kari Kilgore are delighted to return to the WMG Publishing Holiday Spectacular this year, and they’re each sharing one of their stories free for one week only on their own websites.
Kari’s story “The Inn, the Black Cat, and Two Halves of the Same Heart” is set in the same Appalachian inn as her story “The Magic Cat of the Hidden Springs Inn and Spa” from last year’s Holiday Spectacular. That sweet romance featured Kari and Jason’s tabby cat Zortea. The new story explores the origins of the inn back in 1987, and features Zortea’s best buddy Lafayette.
Jason takes us back even further, to his memories of time spent in Japan in 1976. “Andrew and Shichi-Go-San” follows a five-year-old trying to make his way in a new culture, and the heartwarming way his family and his new community make him feel special and loved.
Kari will have one more story in this year’s Holiday Spectacular for a total of three, along with wonderful stories from some of the best writers working today. It’s not too late to subscribe!
